| Citibank International plc's ("Citibank") e-mail and text message banking alerts service ("Citibank Alerting Service") enables You to receive
notices from time to time concerning Available Balance information and other issues relating to Your Citibank Account(s). The Citibank
Alerting Service Terms and Conditions below incorporate the Citibank Account General Terms and Conditions. By signing up to receive
one or more of the notices that are offered by Citibank Alerting Service, You acknowledge that You are aware of and agree to abide by
the following Citibank Alert Service Terms and Conditions:
1. Citibank Alerting Service Subscription
1.1. Citibank Alerting Service allows You to request and
receive text messages (SMS) and electronic mail (e-mail),
(collectively or separately "Banking Alerts"), messages
about Your Account(s) with Citibank. Citibank will send
Banking Alerts to You based upon the instructions You
provide.
1.2. Your instructions are neither reviewed nor verified by
Citibank prior to or following activation of Citibank
Alerting Service.
1.3. You hereby acknowledge and accept that each Banking
Alert is sent to You without being encrypted and may
include Your name and information pertaining to Your
Citibank Account(s).
1.4. It is not possible for You to send text messages to Us for
the purpose of servicing Your Account(s).
2. Receiving Citibank Alerting Service Alerts
2.1. You may receive Banking Alerts through a text-enabled
digital mobile telephone, an e-mail account that is
accessed via a personal computer, or both.
2.2. It is Your responsibility to determine if your mobile
phone network provider supports text messaging and
Your telephone is capable of receiving text messages.
2.3. Citibank's Banking Alerts are subject to the terms and
conditions of Your agreement(s) with Your mobile phone
network provider and/or internet service provider. You
are responsible for any fees imposed by Your mobile
phone service and internet service provider of any kind
whatsoever.
2.4. You can change events or accounts by calling CitiPhone
Banking on 0800 00 55 00 (if calling from abroad dial
+44 20 7500 5500), or by logging into Citibank Online.
2.5. You can change the mobile telephone number or email
address to which You wish to receive the Banking Alerts,
by calling Us on 0800 00 55 00, or by logging into
Citibank Online.
2.6. You must tell Us as soon as possible by calling CitiPhone
Banking on 0800 00 55 00, if any of Your Alerts appear
to be irregular.
2.7. We will only send You a Banking Alert once, if you delete
a Banking Alert which We have sent to You, it cannot be
sent again.
2.8. Each text message Banking Alert We send to You will
contain a maximum of 160 characters.
2.9. Once subscribed to the Citibank Alerting Service, You will
automatically receive a Banking Alert when a debit of
5,000 or greater in your selected currency, leaves any of
Your Citibank Account(s). This is to highlight fraudulent
account activity that may be occurring within Your
Account(s) and to protect Your account(s) in the future.
2.10. If You have more than one mobile phone, You will be
asked when You register to nominate the number of the
mobile phone on which You wish to receive text message
Banking Alerts as We will only send messages to one
mobile phone number per customer.
2.11. If You have more than one email address, You will be
asked when You register to nominate the address of the
one on which You wish to receive the Banking Alerts as
We will only send messages to one email address per
customer.
2.12. If a Joint Account is held, You will be asked when You
register to nominate one number on which You wish to
receive text message Banking Alerts as We will only send
messages to one mobile phone number per account.
2.13. You acknowledge and agree that Your receipt of any
Banking Alerts may be delayed or prevented by factor(s)
affecting Your mobile phone network provider, internet
service provider(s) and other factors outside Our control.
2.14. You further acknowledge and agree that Your receipt
of any Banking Alerts may be delayed or prevented by
factors outside the control of Citibank, or by operation
of law.
2.15. We neither guarantee the delivery nor the accuracy of
the contents of each Banking Alert.
3. Liability
3.1. You agree to not hold Citibank, its directors, officers,
employees and agents liable for losses or damages,
including legal fees, that may arise, directly or indirectly,
in whole or in part, from: (a) a non-delivery, delayed
delivery, or the misdirected delivery of a Banking Alert;
(b) inaccurate or incomplete content in a Banking Alert;
or (c) Your reliance on or use of the information
provided in a Banking Alert for any purpose.
4. Termination and Suspension
4.1. You may end or suspend text message Banking Alerts
with immediate effect electronically by using Our Citibank
Online or by calling CitiPhone Banking on 0800 00 55 00.
4.2. For Your own security, We may suspend text message
Banking Alerts with immediate effect and without prior
notice to You if we have reason to suspect that You are
not receiving the text messages being sent to Your
mobile telephone or that someone else is receiving the
text messages. It will be Your responsibility to notify Us
if Your mobile phone is lost or stolen. Upon such
notification, Your text message Banking Alerts will be
suspended until you inform Us of Your phones return or
replacement number. Your e-mail messages will continue
as normal.
4.3. Citibank provides this service as a convenience to You
for information purposes only. A Banking Alert does not
constitute a bank record for the Account to which it
pertains. Citibank reserves the right to terminate its
Citibank Alerting Service at any time without prior notice
to You. Nothing contained herein shall amend, supersede
or nullify anything contained in any other agreement you
have made with Citibank.
5. If you take your mobile phone abroad
5.1. Text message Banking Alerts might be transmitted to
Your mobile telephone via foreign telephone networks
which do not guarantee a high level of security. Because
of this, We recommend that You suspend Citibank
Alerting Service to Your mobile telephone for the
duration of Your time outside the United Kingdom.
5.2. If You do take Your mobile telephone outside the United
Kingdom without suspending the Citibank Alerting Service
to Your mobile telephone, as recommended by Citibank,
You expressively consent for Us, the network operator
and any third party to whom information about You and
Your Account(s) has been passed for the provision of
Citibank Alerting Service, to transmit and store such
information in countries or territories as necessary to
send text messages to Your mobile telephone.
6. Charges
6.1. The weekly or monthly balance Banking Alert only is free. Any
other combination of the Banking Alerts including a daily balance
are part of the personalised package, of which the first month is
free and subsequent months will be charged at £2.50 per month.
Citibank will first give You at least 30 days notice in writing,
electronically or by text message, informing You of any changes
to the pricing structure. If after the 30 day period You continue
to subscribe to Citibank Alerting Service personalised package,
You authorise Us to debit any of Your Account(s) with any such charges.
6.2. Citibank will give You at least 30 days notice in writing,
electronically or by text message, informing You of any changes
to the charging structure.
6.3. By subscribing to the Citibank Alerting Service, We will send
You, free of charge, the following Banking Alerts:
- Exceeded Authorised Overdraft: This will notify You
if You have exceed Your authorised overdraft limit.
- Overdrawn account: If You do not have an authorised
overdraft, this will notify You that Your Account is
overdrawn.
- Debit from Your Account over the value of 5,000 or
greater in Your selected currency.
7. Data Protection
7.1. Citibank International plc is a member of the Citigroup
Group of Companies and is the Data Controller. We will
use Your information to administer Your Account(s) and
for other business purposes, including the following; make
any inquiries that We consider necessary to confirm Your
identity, operating Your Account(s), or making credit
decisions.
We will monitor and/or record telephone calls from and to
You in the interests of customer service and for training
purposes. This may be done either by Ourselves, or
reputable organisations carefully selected by Us to ensure
consistent servicing levels and account operations.
8. Other Information
8 .1. Citibank International plc is authorised and regulated by the
Financial Services Authority, FSA ref.no 122342
8 .2. All communication such as terms and conditions, statements,
telephone conversations, e-mail etc will be provided in English.
8 .3. If You contact us with a complaint, the Bank will do its best
to resolve the matter as quickly as possible, in accordance with our
internal complaints procedures. The Bank is covered by the Financial
Ombudsman Service (FOS), which is available to settle certain complaints
you make if they cannot be settled through our internal complaints
procedures.
9. Jurisdiction
9.1. These terms and conditions shall be governed and construed in
accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
