How it works:

• Citibank Global Transfers are available to these destinations worldwide.
  • Available via Citibank Online or at Citibank ATMs in selected countries.
  • If the transfer is made across currencies, a Citibank exchange rate will be applied.
• You can send up to £10,000 in Sterling or currency equivalent¹ across borders everyday (subject to individual country laws).
• Funds are debited from your account immediately and available to use in the recipient's account straight away.

How to use Citibank Global Transfers Online

• If you are transferring money to a new payee, please choose "Add a payee for new or one off transfers" choosing the type of payee as " International Citibank Accounts ". Choose the country that the account is located in and fill in the payee and account details as required.
• When setting up a payee type of International Citibank Accounts you will need to call CitiPhone on 0800 00 55 00 to activate the payee before you can transfer money. Please note, if calling from abroad dial +44 20 7500 5500.

• After you have set up your new payee or you are transferring funds to an existing payee, under the "Transfers & Payments" section of Citibank Online, choose the "Transfer to a Citibank account abroad (Existing Payee)" link

• Please note that for security purposes, if you've just set up a new International Citibank Account payee you will need to call CitiPhone to activate the payee before you can transfer money. If you don't activate the payee it will not appear on your payee list. The payee activation is required only once and before the first payment can be made to this particular payee. Afterwards you will be able to transact with the existing payee without any additional contact needed.

• Choose the account from which you'd like to transfer funds, then select the Citibank account holder abroad to whom you would like to send the funds.
• Enter the amount you would like to transfer.
• You will be notified of the exchange rate on the transaction confirmation screen.
• Confirm the details of the transaction, click next and the transaction will be completed.

1. Citibank exchange rates apply to transfers made across currencies. The exchange rate will be confirmed before the transaction is carried out. Transfers between UK Citibank accounts, have a daily limit of £250,000 (or currency equivalent). In certain circumstances, Citibank will contact customers to confirm a request before processing it. This is to maintain the security of the account and to protect the interest of customers.
