You can now register for the Verified by Visa service for your Citi Visa Debit Card. It only takes a couple of minutes to register - all you need is your Card.
Click on the register now link below – type in your personal details (you will need to have your card to hand). Then choose a password and Personal Greeting - its that simple.
Once you’ve registered you’ll be able to manage all your Verified by Visa details via the Account Management facility.
If you don’t want to register now. You will be prompted to register the next time you shop online with your Citi Visa Debit Card at a participating retailer.

Shop online at a participating retailer, pay with your registered Citi Visa Debit Card and click 'submit'.
During the checkout process, a window displaying your Personal Greeting will appear. You'll be asked to enter your Password - just like an ATM requesting a PIN.
Enter your Password to confirm your identity. This added layer of security is not shared with the retailer.
How does Verified by Visa work?
Once you've registered your Citi Visa Debit Card and created your own secure Password, when you make an online purchase at a participating website a page will sometimes appear asking for some of the characters from your Password. When you correctly enter the correct characters from your Password, Citi UK will confirm that you are the authorised cardholder and your purchase is completed.
How does Verified by Visa protect me?
When you correctly enter the requested characters from your Password during an online purchase at a participating website, you confirm that you are the authorised cardholder and your purchase is then completed. If the correct characters from your Password are not entered, the purchase will not go through. So even if someone knows your card number, they would not be able to use your account at that website.
What hapens when my Citi Visa Debit Card expires or my postcode information changes?
Citi UK will automatically update this information in your profile, as long as you have notified us of any changes to your personal details. The only time you need to update your Verified by Visa profile yourself is when you want to change your Password.
What is a Personal Greeting?
The Personal Greeting is a message that you create during registration. Each time you make an online purchase at a participating website a page will appear and ask you to enter characters from your Password. On this page, you'll see your Personal Greeting and other details related to the purchase. The Personal Greeting is your assurance that you are communicating with, and submitting your Password to Citi UK. If the Personal Greeting displayed is incorrect, you should not enter your Password, but should instead contact CitiPhone immediately by calling the phone number on the back of your Citi Visa Debit Card or on your statement, to report a possible fraud.

If you have questions, or need assistance during the registration process and cannot find any support within the FAQs, you should contact CitiPhone on the phone number listed on the back of your Citi Visa Debit Card or on your statement.
Why did I get a registration screen when I haven't signed up for anything?
Verified by Visa is a service from Visa and Citi UK that gives added security when you shop online and helps protect against unauthorised use of your Verified by Visa registered card. Citi UK is making it easier for you to register for this added protection by offering you the opportunity to sign up while you're already online.
How do I use my Password?
There is no need to log in or sign on. When you make a purchase at a participating website and enter your Citi Visa Debit Card payment details, a page will automatically appear from Citi UK. After reviewing the details of your purchase and confirming that your Personal Greeting is correct, simply enter the requested characters from your Password to complete your purchase.
What if my Personal Greeting is missing or incorrect?
If the Personal Greeting is missing from the Verified by Visa Password request box, or if an incorrect Personal Greeting is displayed, you should not submit characters from yourPassword, but should instead contact CitiPhone immediately by calling the number on the back of your Citi Visa Debit Card or on your statement.
How do I change my Password?
Access the ‘Account Management’ feature by returning to the registration site and clicking on the 'Account Management' link on the welcome page. You can then log in and change yourPassword to anything you want as long as it is meets Citi UK's requirements (as shown under the data entry box) and is different from your Personal Greeting.

Access the ‘Account Management’ feature by returning to the registration site and clicking on the 'Account Management' tab on the welcome page. You can then log in and change your Personal Greeting to anything you want as long as it is between 1 and 30 characters and is different from your Password.

Will my personal information be used without my permission?
If you are outside the UK you must ensure local law permits you to use Citibank Online. Citibank Online uses powerful encryption which is prohibited in certain countries.
Transfers have no transaction fee. If the transfer is made across currencies, Citibank's reference exchange rate will apply. Also, transactions can only be made to selected Citibank branches.
Some transactions may be unavailable during system updates.
