As a Citi client, you have the benefit of being able to hold multiple accounts in different currencies – with the option to access whichever one you want, wherever you happen to be – with just a single debit card. Now, to make it even easier for you, you can link your Citi Visa Debit Card to any of your eligible currency accounts in just a few moments, with Citi Online.
For example, if you live in Europe but travel regularly to the United States, a quick visit to Citi Online is all it takes to change your card linkage from your Euro account to your US Dollar account. The change is automatic, allowing you to pay for goods and withdraw cash in the appropriate currency as soon as you reach your destination.
Simply sign on to Citi Online and click on 'Card Linkage' from the drop down menu under My Profile or use the quick link on your My Citi homepage. What are the different ways of changing my card linkage?
You can ask for your card to be linked to a different account in the following ways:
By signing on to Citi Online
Through CitiPhone on 0800 00 55 00 (or +44 20 7500 5500 if phoning from abroad) 0800 00 56 00 (If calling from abroad dial: +44 207 500 5600) and selecting option 5 from the menu

Can I link my card to any account?
You can link your card to any active account in any currency as long as you have two more eligible accounts Eligible accounts are as follows:
GBP current accounts (Sole or Joint)
GBP savings accounts (Sole or Joint)
Foreign Currency current accounts (Sole or Joint)
Foreign Currency savings accounts (Sole or Joint)
Can I withdraw cash and make purchases overseas once I have changed my card linkage?
Depending on the type of account you have linked the card to, you'll either be able to withdraw cash at ATMs and pay for things directly with your card when travelling overseas, or you'll just be able to withdraw cash at ATMs. You can see which services are available for the linked account as you go through the online screens.
Can I link my card to an inactive or dormant account?
No, you can only link your Citi Visa Debit Card to an active account. If your card is linked to an inactive or dormant account and you have any other eligible accounts we recommend you to change your Citi Visa Debit Card linkage so you can begin using your debit card. Alternatively, if you have any questions regarding the status of your account and/or need to re-activate an inactive account, please call CitiPhone on 0800 00 55 00 (+44 20 7500 5500 from overseas) or for Citigold 0800 00 56 00 (If calling from abroad dial: +44 207 500 5600)
Can I set up a card linkage for a future date?
You can use Citi Online or Interactive Voice Response to change your card linkage immediately. It's quick and easy and can be done at any time via your desktop, laptop, tablet or smart phone, so you may find it more convenient than setting a future dated link. If you do want to set a future date for your card linkage, this can still be done by contacting CitiPhone.
Can I use card linkage with my non transactional card that I use to log into Citi Online?
These options aren't available if you have a non transactional card as this type of card can only be used to sign on to Citi Online (for example, if you have a non transactional card for your Citi Flexible saver account).
