Send money to a non-Citi account outside of they UK

A swift, secure and simple way to A swift, secure and simple way to send money outside of the UK. You can send money to a non-Citi bank account outside of the UK by using SEPA or SWIFT.

  • First, select Sending Money from your My Citi dashboard.
  • On the new page, click Send Money.
  • From the drop-down menu, select Send money to an account with another bank outside of the UK (also known as SWIFT).
  • Choose the From account you’re sending from and select your To account (To specify your payee, select from any accounts you’ve added before, or choose to Send money to new payee)
  • Select your transfer currency and amount. If you are sending within the EU, the charge will be shared between the Payee and your account. If you are sending outside the EU, please select the Charge Type
  • Choose whether you want to pay immediately or on a future date. Alternatively, create a recurring payment.
  • Add a short message to describe your payment.
  • Choose whether to tick the box Would you like to save this payee? to add them to your payee list.
  • Please note, when adding a new payee for the first time, you will receive a One Time Password on your Citi registered mobile number that must be entered to complete the transaction.
  • Click NEXT and check the details of your transfer.
  • All in order? Click CONFIRM, and the job is done.
  • Select the Payments & Transfers menu.
  • Select the From account from the list of available accounts.
  • Click on To link.
  • Select the payee from the list of overseas non-Citi accounts added before or choose to Transfer to a New Payee.
  • If you are transferring to a new payee, select the Payment Type, the destination Country and enter the destination Account Number.
  • Click on Continue button.
  • Enter the mandatory fields on the input page.
  • Choose the payment frequency (immediate, future and recurring). For transferring money to a new payee, you cannot set the frequency as Recurring.
  • Click on Next to view the summary of the transfer.
  • Click on Cancel link to cancel the transfer or click on Confirm link to confirm the transfer.
  • If you are transferring money to a new payee, you will receive a One Time Password on your Citi registered mobile number which must be entered to complete the transaction.
  • On the Confirmation page, if you are transferring to a new payee
    • Click on the Add this payee link to add this payee to your payee list. If you do not wish to add the payee, do not click on the Add this payee link.
    • On the summary page, click on the Add payee button to confirm the payee addition or click on Cancel to cancel the payee addition.
